Facade Survey and Terrestrial Photogrammetry

When dealing with build heritage and subsequent conservation and preservation issues many of our clients require a higher level of detail than is usual for façade and building surveys.

In addition to the detailing of façade features such as window and door ope’s, sills, floor levels, inverts, ridges and eaves, it is usual in the course of our survey proceedure to record building fabric, fixtures and fittings, and general condition and construction information. We have also been required to record a number buildings and structures at a ‘brick by brick’ level.

For high detail recording and measurement of facades our surveyors employ photogrammetric techniques and utilise photogrammetric software to create rectified photography and extract detailed structural line work.

Precise measurements and photographic control points are recorded on site using reflectorless total station together with SLR and digital cameras. This provides a total record of all visible features and a high quality photographic record of the structure.
