Siobhán joined the company in 2002 as a senior archaeological site supervisor for the Mount Gamble project in Swords, Co Dublin, where the remains of over 270 skeletons were excavated. She supervised the post-excavation phase of this project and has continued to manage post-excavation analysis for a number of the company’s urban excavations including, Fumbally Lane, Golden Lane and Clancy Barracks, as well as preparing finds reports for over 40 other excavations. In 2004-5 she catalogued and prepared reports on over 5300 artefacts from excavations undertaken as part of the Limerick Main Drainage Scheme. Prior to joining the company Siobhán worked on a number of archaeological excavations throughout the country in counties Roscommon, Sligo, Clare and Tipperary, beginning in 1999. Her duties included on-site excavation, finds processing and post-excavation. In 2000 she worked as a recorder for the Inventory of Worked Stone on ecclesiastical sites in Galway and Mayo for the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government. Her Masters thesis in Archaeology was on Medieval Parish Churches and Parochial Organisation in South County Leitrim. |
