After completing a BA in Archaeology and History in 2000 Colm joined the company in 2001 and worked his way up to the position of senior archaeological site supervisor, a position he held for 2 years. He supervised excavations at South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2; James’s Street, Dublin 8; Kilgobbin, Stepaside, Co. Dublin; and Giltspur Lane, Bray, Co. Wicklow. He was also involved in the completion of post-excavation work for both the South Great Georges Street and James’s Street sites. Colm became licence eligible in February 2005, and has carried out several archaeological assessments and monitoring projects for both private and commercial developers. In 2005, Colm was part of a team of archaeologists who directed centreline trenching for two large road projects, the N8 Cullahill to Cashel Road Improvement Scheme, and the N8 Cashel to Mitchelstown Road Improvement Scheme and was one of 4 directors who undertook the archaeological resolution of over 50 sites the N8 Cashel to Mitchelstown Road Scheme in 2006-7. The results of these excavations will be published in early 2009. |
